Los Angeles County Museum of Art acquires work by Michael Rey

Los Angeles County Museum of Art
Los Angeles, CA

Congratulations to Michael Rey and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on its recent acquisition of Michael Rey’s monumental work, "R.I.B.," (2014). Michael Rey’s shaped wood wall reliefs are painted with vivid oil color. Stemming from Rey's interest in the human need to rationalize the inexplicable, his works can be seen as organic, mechanical, primordial, and futuristic at all once.

Michael Rey (b. 1979, Sarasota, FL) received his BFA from Ringling College of Art and Design (Sarasota, FL) in 2002 and his MFA from Art Center College of Design (Pasadena, CA) in 2008. Rey’s work will be featured in upcoming solo and group exhibitions at  ZERO… (Milan, Italy) and a group PALFREY (London, UK). In 2021, Michael Rey's work was acquired by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (Los Angeles, CA).
